What is Reiki?
Reiki is an ancient energy-based healing modality dating back thousands of years to Japan, Tibet and India. The word Rei in Japanese means "God's wisdom or higher power" and ki means "energy life force." Practitioners use this universal life energy to support healing by deeply relaxing the physical body, removing blockages and imbalances from the energy field, balancing energy centers(chakras) and activating the body's natural healing powers.
One of the main principles of Reiki practice is, "Reiki does no harm." Reiki is the universal life energy present in everything and everyone from humans, animals and insects, to plants, trees, and water. We are all made of energy. When one receives a Reiki session, the universal energy relaxes, unblocks and promotes the flow of a healthy energy system. A Reiki Master does not use their own energy and never does the client or practitioner's energy meet. A Reiki Master is just the channel for this powerful energy to flow to the areas in need of attention on you and your animal.
Reiki is non-invasive and beneficial for both animals and humans. In humans, it has been found beneficial for many conditions including anxiety, depression, PTSD, cancer, headaches, sinuses, chronic pain, after care of chemotherapy or radiation treatment, after surgery recovery, pregnancy, palliative care and many more. In my experience, it has been very beneficial for animals with many of these same conditions.

Welcome! My name is Amanda. My journey into energy healing began after teaching for about 15 years in elementary schools. Teaching can be both tremendously rewarding and stressful. As the years went by, I found that teaching no longer brought me joy and instead my life became filled with anxiety and depression. Being a spiritual person, I thought there must be a way to bring myself back to balance naturally. I found a local Reiki master and the rest is history! I found my way back into balance and found the healing path I was always meant to be on for myself and others.
I am an Usui Holy Fire® III Reiki Master Teacher, Holy Fire® III Karuna Reiki® Master and an ICRT(The International Center for Reiki Training) Animal Reiki Master Practitioner. I am also trained in Angelic Reiki, the Emotion Code, sound healing and crystal healing.
I love connecting to animals of all kinds and allowing them to guide their self-healing journey as we bring them back into balance with the gift of Reiki.
What is ICRT Animal Reiki?
ICRT Animal Reiki is a complimentary, gentle and non-invasive modality that has been shown to reduce stress, anxiety and depression in animals as well as promote relaxation and accelerate healing of injuries and surgeries. The International Center for Reiki Training (ICRT) Animal Reiki is taught only by certified ICRT instructors and focuses on the animal led approach to Reiki. The Reiki energy used by these practitioners is different than the Reiki used during human sessions. Animal Reiki is an Earth-based frequency in direct alignment with animals and plants.
Animals have emotions and thought patterns just like humans do. Often when animals experience very strong emotions or traumatic events they are unable to fully express or process their emotions, so these emotions become trapped within their energy field. Over time these trapped emotions may begin to physically manifest in a variety of ways most evident in their behavior and health. Reiki is able to find and clear these trapped emotions as well as other energetic blockages or imbalances in the animal's energy.
I love using this frequency of Reiki that works with the realm of the earth and animals. It's very grounding and effective. Animals instinctively just know how to accept and use this Reiki for their highest healing possible.

How does Animal Reiki work?
ICRT Animal Reiki uses a specific frequency of healing energy in alignment with the animal kingdom. This frequency balances the animal's energetic system and returns them to a state in alignment with their true animal nature. The animal takes the lead and guides the Reiki to where they need it the most. This process promotes healing on a physical, mental and emotional level.
Animal Reiki is beneficial for any animal. It can be used as long as the caregiver and the animal give permission. In cases of zoo animals, sanctuary animals or wild animals, the animal will have to give permission to accept the Reiki. Although I may receive visual clues during a session, I do not diagnose medical, psychological or training issues. I am not an animal communicator and will not be able to fully communicate with your animal in conversation. Reiki works best for the animal as a complimentary therapy to veterinary medicine and behavioral training.
Are sessions hands-on or distance/remote?
With ICRT Animal Reiki, there are many ways of providing sessions with your animal depending on their level of comfort. The number one concern with providing sessions is safety for the animal, caregiver and me. Many times distance sessions using simply a picture of the animal to connect may be the best way to work with particular animals. Most household pets greatly benefit from distance sessions as they can remain in their own home and go about their day as usual.

Will Reiki help my pet's annoying behaviors?
ICRT Animal Reiki is a complimentary modality that works best in tandem with veterinary care and any behavioral trainer's recommendations. Many pet owners find energy healing looking to fix their pet of troublesome behaviors such as scratching, barking, biting, territorial behaviors and anxiety. Behaviors are sometimes a reflection of the deeper emotional work this animal needs to heal. As the animal accepts Reiki during healing sessions, they are taking the energy to heal themselves. Over time this may reduce the worrisome behaviors making an animal's response to behavioral training more successful. However, Reiki sessions will not change what is in the nature of the breed or species.
Do I work with animal organizations?
I am available to work with animal organizations such as rescues, zoos, sanctuaries, veterinary clinics, rehabilitation groups, farms, etc. Please contact me to set up a time to discuss how I may assist your animals.
